This is achieved through activities such as site evaluation, feasibility studies, operation and maintenance of systems, implementing land use and resource use restrictions, and monitoring. This Baseline Environmental Assessment (BEA) layer shows locations on parcels of property identified by new or prospective owners or operators as being contaminated under Part 201, Environmental Remediation, and/or Part 213, Leaking Underground Storage Tanks, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended (NREPA). EGLE does not render an opinion on the information contained in the BEA. New owners and operators are advised to use due diligence in the purchase of any property with respect to potential environmental contamination.

Updates occur periodically by appending recent BEA submittal records from the Remediation and Redevelopment Division's Remediation Information Data Exchange (RIDE).
