These data are intended for geographic display and analysis at the county and state level. These data were specifically edited for use in the Michigan Natural Features BIOTICS program. Town, range and section lines were added to areas in Michigan that were surveyed under the French Claims system. The goal was to cover the state with a consistent PLSS system so all BIOTICS data would have a corresponding township, range and section number. No responsibility is assumed by Michigan Natural Features Inventory in the use of these data. This is the same as the trs_all coverage, except polygons were dissolve by Twn_rngsec. This was necessary for the Biotics Zoom By tool to work properly. Thus there is no French Claim information. Areas in the lake were given a TRS attribute of T00R0000, and an Other attribute of "Lake Name". The same was done for each range. Sections were shaded by horizontal line, so sections 1 - 6 had the same color, 7 - 12, etc. Then sections were shaded vertically, with sections 6, 7, 18, 19, 30, and 31 the same color, etc. This allowed mis-labeled polygons to be identified visually. Arc attributes are not complete at this time. Polygon and arc topology are present. Coverage of the state corresponds with Stco100, the 100K DLG coverage of Michigan, with areas in the lake having a TRS number of T00R0000 and an Other attribute of "Lake Name". Horizontal accuracy is unknown but is expected to be consistent with 1:24,000 data. Lines were visually checked over 1:24,000 DRGs.
