Watershed councils and environmental organizations have a variety of missions and provide many services. Some are specific to one lake and focus only on very local issues, while some cover the entire watershed or state. EGLE provides this information as a service to the user, and the information has been gathered from a variety of public resources available on the internet. Only publicly available information has been provided (e.g. the organization contact e-mail address provided on a public website). Not all watershed organizations are represented here, but EGLE makes every effort to improve the accuracy of this information. If you would like an organization to be added or removed from this layer, or have updated contact information, please submit the information to rippkem@michigan.gov.
Notes: Subwatersheds at the 12-digit Hyrdologic Unit Code (HUC) level are the smallest polygons in this layer; therefore, very local agencies such as lake associations may appear to have interest in the entire subwatershed (which may not be the case). County-based organizations have boundaries that do not adhere to these subwatersheds. For subwatersheds that cross county boundaries, all applicable county-based organizations are listed.
This layer is updated on an 'as needed' basis (Updated: October 30, 2020).

",
